2017 Souhegan High School Stadium Turf Project

ACF is thrilled with the success of the new turf field...our home...our field of dreams.  The Calvetti Family dedication arch is up, the kids are playing with spirit. ACF met our goal to have the field ready for game time, in fall of 2016. In 2017 we finalized the second phase, enhancing the Stadium entrance with a new seating area, lighting, grounds, trees, shrubs, and beautiful donor dedication area.

Project History

In the summer of 2015 the Calvetti Family, committed $500,000 to install a turf field in the Souhegan High School Stadium. With a target project goal of $882,000 a committee of dedicated residents and school board members quickly assembled to raise the remaining $382,000.  Reaching out to potential known donors and putting in place a buy-a-brick campaign, ACF met the goal in spring of 2016.

In the beginning of March 2016, the Souhegan School Board voted to accept the ACF donations and move forward with the project.

In September 2016 the ACF, Souhegan High School and Board of Directors, Amherst Recreation Department, community members and athletes of all ages gathered at the new Calvetti Field in dedication of the new turf. Hundreds turned out on this hot night in community collaboration with the children doing a ceremonial run across the new field.   We are so proud of the community generosity this project has created and look forward to the many events that this environment will host in the years to come.

Brick Purchases

A huge success! We are so glad to have hundreds of commemorative bricks now lining the entrance to the stadium, showing the dedication from so many to make the stadium project a reality.
